Welcome to Groveland Motel

The Groveland Motel, nestled at 18933 Main St in Groveland, CA, offers travelers a straightforward and welcoming stopover just minutes from Yosemite National Park. With a modest rating of 3.1, this rustic lodging serves as a practical choice for visitors seeking a clean and comfortable place to rest without unnecessary frills.

Guests regularly praise the motel for its attentive and accommodating staff. One traveler noted the front desk remained open late into the night to welcome late arrivals, exemplifying the motel’s dedication to guest convenience. The rooms, while simple, are consistently described as clean, with the shower featuring notably strong water pressure—a small but memorable comfort after a day exploring the nearby woods and mountains.

The hotel's location along Highway 120 is a major asset. It stands a mere one-minute walk from the Groveland Yosemite Gateway Museum, enriching visitors’ experience with local history and culture. Plus, being only three miles from Yosemite’s edge makes it an ideal base for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The kid-friendly atmosphere and the availability of free Wi-Fi and parking further ease the stay, though it’s worth noting the motel lacks amenities such as a pool, restaurant, or fitness center.

Community spirit shines through in guest accounts, including a touching example where the manager generously allowed a guest and her daughter to stay overnight in their RV without hurry, underscoring a sense of safety and warm hospitality. Nearby conveniences, like a grocery store just across the street, add practical ease to the stay.

While the Groveland Motel may not impress those searching for luxury, it fulfills its role as a reliable, unpretentious gateway to Yosemite. Its charm lies in honest service, peaceful surroundings, and a focus on the essentials—qualities that make it a valued retreat for families, solo travelers, and anyone drawn to the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada foothills.

We had to make an emergency trip back to Yosemite and were happy to find a room at Groveland Motel. The front desk staff member was very accommodating and waited up for us until we arrived at 11:30 pm. The room was simple and clean, but the shower had amazing water pressure - I don't think it was a water saving shower head. Good value for money.

The manager allow my daughter and I to stay overnight using her RV. No rush with moving the RV. I felt safe and the staff were very friendly / helpful. The grocery store across the street had everything which is also a plus.
